Product Description

A very nice original pair of Colima standing ceramic figures, ancient West Mexico, c. 200 BC - 200 AD. The woman is incised with delicate striations to create her minimalist clothing and wears a hat, the man with similar incised minimalist clothing. Traces of the original white and black painted armbands and clothing elements still visible. It is very rare to have an original matched man and woman figure to stay together since antiquity. The larger male figure measures 7 1/8"H x 3 1/2"W. Both with custom metal stands (the larger figure standing 7 3/4" tall).
