Product Description
Ancient Rome. Emperor Constantius II, 337-361 AD. A nice bronze Nummus coin struck 337-341 AD, Alexandria mint. The front depicts his pearl-diademed and draped bust facing right, with the Latin inscription DN CONSTANTIVS AVG around. The back depicts two Roman soldiers holding spears and shields with a Legionary standard between them, with the inscription GLORIA EXERCITVS around; mintmark: SMALA below. Coin reference: RIC VIII Alexandria 18; Sear 18007 for type. 17mm, 1.44 grams. Black patina with nice earthen highlights.
