From Afghanistan, this piece features dazzlingly reflective pyrite deposits over a generous amount of the sphere's surface as well as calcite deposits, which contrast strikingly with the depth of the blue. A dazzling piece that recalls why this stone was treasured in ancient Egypt. This sphere is hand-carved and hand-polished out of one piece of genuine top quality lapis lazuli.
